Democratic Women’s Club of Marco Island
General Meeting, March 12, 2019
Stephanie Ballo opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.
She introduced Jessica Homer, Assistant Director of the Ethics, Equity and Compliance Office at FGCU who, along with her team from FGCU, presented the evening program on “Dealing with Conflict in Personal Spaces”.
The presentation included a summary of different styles of dealing with different types of behavior called DISC-- dominance, inducement, compliance and steadiness. She passed out a leaflet summarizing these styles and will also be sending her PowerPoint presentation via email to the club.
After the presentation, the audience was divided up into different groups to discuss various political issues from the Republican and Democratic point of views.
The general consensus was that the evening was productive and helpful.
Annisa Karim, the head of the Collier Democratic Party in Florida spoke briefly about raising funds for the democratic headquarters in Collier. More information is at collierdems.org.
Members were invited to attend an open board meeting on Friday, March 15 at 2pm.
